Typescript copies of letters (1848-1857) written by Wilson Blain from the Oregon Territory and sent to leaders of the Associated Reformed Church in the East. Subjects include: Blain's overland passage to Oregon in 1848; social, political, and economic conditions in Oregon during the 1850s; and the cooperation and eventual unification of the Associated Reformed and United Presbytery churches in Oregon; letters edited by J. Orin Oliphant.

Wilson Blain was a minister of the "Covenanting" branch of the Presbyterian church and editor of the Oregon Spectator newspaper.
